Members who wish to join the Conformation Judges Training Scheme are advised that applications to join the scheme must be submitted not later than OCOBER 1ST. Please contact the Dogs NT office for an application form
Applicants will have been a member of Dogs NT for a minimum period of eight years during the ten years prior to the date of the application. Persons transferring from another state/territory/country will be required to provide evidence of their experience over a period of eight years as a member of the relevant Canine Controlling body to be considered for acceptance into the training scheme.
The applicant will provide sufficient evidence of experience as a breeder, exhibitor, steward or official in canine activity as outlined hereunder or meet the criteria as approved by the ANKC and affiliated National Breed Council:
i. Has bred at least three litters under their own or a shared prefix.
ii. The applicant must have owned and made up and/or bred a minimum of two Champions Applicants can define any other success in the Show Ring (i.e. any major awards or achievements by dogs bred and/or exhibited by the applicant).
iii. Show evidence of practical experience as a Steward which shall consist of at least 20 hours stewarding prior to making application.
iv. has been approved by the Council of Dogs NT.

RT1. REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTANCE AS A TRAINEE JUDGE
(a) Eligibility:
Applicants must:
1. Have been a financial member of an ANKC Member Body for a minimum period of five (5) years prior to the date of application.
The Member Body will consider an application from a person transferring from another State or Territory of Australia, or overseas, who can provide evidence that their canine experience extends over a minimum period of five consecutive years as a member of the Controlling Body for the State, Territory or Country of prior residence.
2. Be a financial member of their State/Territory Member Body.
3. Have officiated as a Trial Manager, Judges Steward or Gun Steward at five (5) ANKC recognised Trials in the preceding three (3) years.
4. Have successfully trained and competed with a dog at the level for which he/she is applying.
5. Be the holder of an appropriate gun licence if required.
(b) Applications:
Applications must be made to the Executive Officer of DOGS NT on the prescribed form, accompanied by the designated fee.
Due to changes to the ANKC Rules for the conduct of Obedience Trials applications are called for from members wishing to join the Obedience Judges Training Scheme
To be eligible the applicant must:
1. Have been a member of the Canine Controlling Body in the State or Territory of residence for a total period of not less than five (5) years.
2. Be over eighteen (18) years of age.
3. Be recommended by the Obedience Committee and approved by the Controlling Body.
Novice License
To be eligible to apply for a Novice Judges License the applicant must have:
1. Trained and trialed a dog to a Companion Dog Title or have gained relevant and acceptable experience.
2. Acted as a Steward in at least five (5) Novice Classes at obedience Trials in the two (2) years previous to the application.
Open License
To be eligible to apply for an Open Judges License the applicant must have:
1. A Novice Judges License
2. Judged a Minimum of three(3) Novice Classes.
3. Acted as a Steward in at least five (5) Open Classes at Obedience Trials in the two years previous to application.
Utility License
to be eligible to apply for a Utility Judges License the applicant must have:
1. An Open Judges License
2. Judged a minimum of three(3) Open classes.
3. Acted as a Steward in at least five (5) Utility Classes at Obedience Trials in the two (2) years previous to application.
