DOGS AUSTRALIA: SUMMARY SPECIAL BOARD MEETING 12 FEB 2022
At the February 2022 ANKC Ltd Special Board meeting, Directors resolved/considered the following:

1. * ANKC Ltd Regulations Part 5 – Conformation Shows.
It was RESOLVED that Clauses 10.6.2 and 10.6.3 of ANKC Regulations Part 5 – Conformation Shows be amended to read:

10.6.2 Points shall be allotted for exhibits six (6) months of age and over exhibited in a Neuter Class as follows: (Amended 02/22, 5.1 – Effective 01/07/22)
a. Neuter Certificate winner
Dogs and Bitches Five (5) points plus one (1) point for each Neutered dog of the breed over the age of six months exhibited at the fixture.
b. Best of Neuter Certificate winner
Five (5) points plus one (1) point for each neuter dog and bitch of the breed over the age of six months exhibited at the fixture.
c. Best Neuter in Group winner
Each winner of the recognized seven (7) groups or ten (10) at CACIB shows – five (5) points plus one (1) point for each Neuter dog and bitch over the age of six months and exhibited in the Group at the fixture.
d. Runner up to Best Neuter in Group
Each Runner Up in the recognized seven (7) groups or ten (10) at CACIB shows – ten (10) points less than the Best Neuter in Group Winner or breed points whichever is higher, with the minimum being six points.
e. Best Neuter in Show winner
Five (5) points plus one (1) point for each Neuter dog and bitch exhibited in the Show or breed points whichever is higher, with the minimum being six points.
f. Runner up to Best Neuter in Show
Ten (10) points less than the Best Neuter in Show Winner or breed points whichever is higher, with the minimum being six points.

10.6.3 The points awarded under (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f) above shall not accumulate and shall, in no case, exceed twenty-five (25) points at any one Show.
NOTE: This amendment to the regulations will be effective 1 July 2022.

2. * ANKC Ltd Regulations Part 6 – The Register & Registration
It was RESOLVED that Regulations Part 6 – The Register & Registration be amended with the inclusion of new Clause 8.16 to read:

8.16 Afghan Hound (Added 02/22 – 6.1)
The Minimum Breeding Age for Afghan bitches is 24 months at the time of mating (unless a veterinary certificate is produced stating that for health reasons the bitch should be mated before 24 months).
The Minimum Breeding Age for Afghan Hound bitches, breeders of litters whelped on or after 1st June 2022, will be required to comply with the requirements as a prerequisite to registration of any litter on the ANKC Ltd Main Register. Litters which do not meet the above requirements will only be able to be placed on the Limited Register and will be flagged not to be upgraded.

and the existing Clauses 8.16, 8.17 and 8.18 will be renumbered.
NOTE: This amendment to the regulations will be effective 1 July 2022.

3. * ANKC Ltd Regulations Part 13 – Regulations for the Conduct of National Breed Councils
It was RESOLVED that Regulations Part 13 – Regulations for the Conduct of National Breed Councils clauses 2.3.1 be amended to read:

2.3.1 The Membership of a National Breed Council must be comprised of at least two (2) Specialised Breed Clubs, each affiliated with a separate Member Body of the ANKC Ltd.

And the removal of Clause 2.3.2.
NOTE: This amendment to the regulations will be effective 1 July 2022.

4. Tenterfield Terrier – Extension to the Breed under Development.
It was RESOLVED that the Tenterfield Terrier Breed under Development be extended for five years from 1 January 2022.

5. Recognition of the Sport of Canine Disc.
It was RESOLVED that the agreement between Dogs Australia and Canine Disc Australia Ltd be endorsed in principle and for it to be referred to the National Legislative Committee for any necessary amendments in liaison with the Canine Disc Australia Ltd.

6. Breeders Terms Contracts.
It was RESOLVED that all Member Bodies review the transfer of dogs in their State and Territory in the context of breeders terms contracts and other guardianship arrangements and provide feedback to the October 2022 Board meeting; and for Dogs Australia to obtain legal advice from a legal specialist in the context of sale of goods/consumer protection legislation for distribution to Member Bodies.
